Mariela Busheva, MSN, APRN, FNP-C
Mariela arrived in the United States in 2001 coming from her native country of Bulgaria. She arrived in Columbus, Ohio and didn’t know a soul or have a command of the English language. She came here to complete an internship at Ohio State University in Plant Protection. Like many immigrants that grace our shores, she took the opportunity to live, work, and prosper, eventually making USA her new home. Today, Mariela is a proud citizen. She started ballroom dancing professionally at the age of 7. Her natural talents and love of dance, not to mention the thousands of hours of practice, her competitive nature, and dedication to be the best at what she does, allowed her to quickly rise through the ranks to become a National Junior Bulgarian Champion. Her competitive dancing has taken her to competitions in Italy, Denmark, Austria, Greece, the United States, and other European countries. While dancing was her passion, she has also shown she has the business acumen to start and run a successful ballroom and fitness center with her business and dance partner. Mariela knows learning is a lifelong process and understands that you have to work hard every day to really excel. She has been featured in such publications as Skirt Magazine, the Lake Norman Times, and Spotlight Magazine. In addition, she has appeared on Fox News, CMS Television, and many European television shows. She earned her first bachelor’s degree in Ecology with a minor in Foreign Trade and Economics before coming to the US. However, her heart has always longed to help, care, and promote health for others. This was a deciding factor to go back to school and pursue her passion. She graduated from Queens University of Charlotte in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and then worked in intensive care at a major hospital for 5 years while she was continuing her education towards her master's degree. She then went on to graduate with her Master of Science in Nursing in 2017 and became a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner. In the last 6 years she has worked from a hospitalist/internal medicine provider to an integrative medicine family practitioner. Mariela is very grateful for that opportunity, which has brought her much professional growth, as well as the opportunity and ability to be where she is today. Mariela believes that creating a partnership with the patient is very important, as this relationship can be therapeutic and empower the patient. She looks forward to educating, inspiring, motivating and coaching her patients to help them achieve their desired results and promote optimal health.In her spare time, she enjoys creating memories through adventures and experiences with the love of her life, her 5-year-old daughter. She also enjoys traveling and exploring different cultures with her family.

Katie Kissel, MSN, APRN, FNP-C, LMBT
Katie has over 20 years of experience in healthcare including working as a nurse in cardiac telemetry, hospice and the emergency department. After graduating from the Family Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2019, she worked as a nurse practitioner in traditional family medicine, occupational, internal medicine and transitional care management handling complex chronic diseases. Katie was finally able to realize her goal in what she believes is the best of both worlds, by providing Integrative Direct Primary Care. Katie's greatest passion is offering her patients options that integrate both conventional medicine and evidence-based alternative therapies that address not just the physical symptoms, but the social, emotional and psychological needs contributing to, exacerbating illness or preventing self-healing.

JoAnna Weber, FNP-C, Cosmetic Dermatology
JoAnna Weber is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in anti-aging medicine and cosmetic dermatology. JoAnna has completed specialty training in dermatology and plastic surgery, specifically eye and facial plastics. With over a decade of clinical experience, she has safely and successfully performed thousands of treatments such as anti-wrinkle injections (Botox and Dysport), dermal fillers (Restylane/Radiesse/Juvederm), Kybella, chemical peels, microneedling and much more. JoAnna's goal is to provide beautiful natural results that restore youthfulness and/or enhance one's own anatomical features. She achieves this by actively listening to her patients and creating a customized treatment plan. She has found that providing holistic care while focusing on safety yields better outcomes. Additionally, JoAnna is a Lake Norman native who was born and raised in Mooresville. She now resides in Denver, NC with her husband, daughter and two dogs. She is proud to be a part of the LKN community and help support the area she loves

Tanya has over 20 years of experience in the medical field as a registered nurse and a phlebotomist. In her spare time she enjoys giving back to the community by helping to feed the homeless on a monthly basis. If you need any bloodwork or lab test done Tanya will be the one to make it happen in the most comfortable way possible.
